2011

The 2011 G20 conference was a great success. One hundred and fifty delegates from twelve different schools participated in the Student G20 conference on November 8th, 2011. Resolutions were debated. Countries were well represented and an excellent debate occurred. Congratulations to all delegates and schools who made this event so successful. Leaside will be preparing for its next G20 for November 2012. Check back later for future updates.

2010

As part of our responsibility as socially conscious Canadians the LHSG20 has taken upon itself to ask delegates to participate in a social justice project.
On November 23, 2010 when you come to the Conference we are asking you to bring at least 1 new or slightly used children's book (suitable for youngsters from K to grade 5- first priority and up to grade 8 also needed).
The books will be donated to the Shawanaga First Nations elementary school approximately 35 km North West of Parry Sound. (See their website for information. shawanaga.ca) This is a very small reserve with a need for books to help with Aboriginal literacy.
Leaside has some prizes for this conference and therefore will give one draw ticket to every student who brings a book to the conference.
Let's get on board and do our part to support Aboriginal Literacy in one of our First Nations communities in Ontario.
